I Love this kit!!!! It arrived on time, it took me no time to set up. As I've played drums in the past I was up and playing in no time. A great investment that I can bang till my heart's content without bothering a soul!!!! Thanks Donner

Firstly this kit is great for a beginner or kids starting to get into drumming!
It's an upgrade from the DED-200 the module is a little more involved but has more functions and you have the option to add an additional floor tom and crash cymbal. So the kit can grow with your advancement.
Lightweight, compact build quality is great and at the price point what's not to like!
The only down side is its not ready to go out of the box i.e. a throne or headphones, but most drummers have there own! It lets you figure out what works for you! The only thing I'd change out would be the bass pedal.... but that's only due to personal preference.
Overall a great kit! Worth every penny!

I'm a beginner drummer. There's a learning curve on the sound module, but I'm getting there. Instructions are pretty good for kit set-up and module options. I'm a guitar player/song writer trying to learn drums. I have several drummer friends that come over on occasion, now I have a kit so we can jam when they're over. Hoping to get some decent sounds out of the DED300 thru my M-Track Eight to record my next project. So far, I like the options of a preset kit and the option of editing individual drums & cymbals to get the sound I'm looking for.

My 16 yro son is teaching himself to play, but with all the other instruments, we had no space for a full-size kit. This drum set was the answer. He loves it. Just for reference, the place in the photo is on a 4x6 rug in our basement, so it's a pretty small area. The set sounds fantastic (purchased the Donner amp for it and the sound quality is great), and with the option for headphones, it was the perfect solution for us. Went together easily, came boxed appropriately with all the parts. It is small, and my son is very tall (6ft), but he just sits lower on the stool and it works fine. Very happy with it.

I have to admit, I haven't messed with the sound settings all that much yet. This is mostly because the original sound set worked fine for me. I expect over time, I will optimize this aspect further, but to get started, all levels and sounds are perfectly fine. I cannot overstress how important it is to get an electronic kit with mesh drum heads. The difference in comfort and realism between mesh and rubberized drum heads is dramatic. Though it has been a long time, I find myself being able to play snare rolls with ease and that doing so reminds me of the tactile experience of doing so decades ago. Another great feature is the use of multiple sound zones per drum. Specifically, if you hit the rim of the snare, you get a rimshot sound, if you hit the head you get a snare sound; if you hit the body of the ride cymbal you get a ride sound, if you hit the edge, you get a crash ride sound. Awesome! The included kick pedal is comfortable and I was surprised by this because my understanding is that most e-kits do not come with a kick pedal at all, as dedicated kick pedals are expensive. I may consider purchasing a dedicated kick pedal over time, but for now, the included pedal works perfectly fine. Overall, I give the kit very high marks for comfort and realism. The drum brain contains a variety of other features I haven't explored yet, but I did note there is a metronome and built in songs. I have been using headphones with the set, and will likely continue to do so for some time, but there is also the option to connect the kit to a powered speaker and/or a computer via usb.
Overall, I am very satisfied with this kit, and recommend it to anyone looking for a beginner kit to learn drumming with that punches high above its weight!

I bought this kit for both my daughter who just started percussion in band and wants to learn to play the drumset and for myself. I found this fairly simple to build taking me less than an hour. The directions were simple and easy to understand. After I finished putting it together I was quickly able to plug in some headphones and start playing! The control unit did take a little time to figure out how to switch between drum kits, songs, metronome, etc...but with a little practice it became pretty easy. I would definitely recommend this to parents who have a kid who is interested in taking up the drums. It has a small footprint, it’s light so it can be moved easily, and can be easily folded up and stored. Since it is electronic and can be played while wearing headphones it makes very little noise so it can be practiced anytime! The different sounds will keep a kid interested. This kit can also be connected to a computer or iPad via USB so if you or your child are technologically savvy, connecting the kit to your iPad or computer allows you even more sound options. Plus, it is cheaper than a traditional acoustic set making it a smaller investment.

this is a good kit that I do recommend it. I’ve just started using it and it seems really good so far. I liked the sounds better than those of a similar Alesis kit. DONNER seems to have good quality control. This is my first DONNER product and I’m liking the quality of their products. They seem a cut above. The item was packed very well and nothing was damaged.

I am so excited to be replacing my son's acoustic drum set with something we can both enjoy: the Donner DED-200 Electric Drum Set. I'm a guitarist, not a drummer, but I've fooled around with drum sets over the years. Especially during the pandemic, the sound of drum practice can be disruptive to others, but not anymore!
I did a lot of research before buying this set. I always try to make smart investments, and that includes the quality and longevity of musical instruments and gear. I believe the Donner DED-200 electric drum set will last for many years.
Affordability: Obviously, there are a number of truly excellent drum sets out there. I've been eyeballing them at music stores for years, but many of them are so expensive! The DED-200 seems very reasonably priced compared to other drum sets with similar features.
Adjustability: Adding an electric drum set to my music room is a pretty big step toward my goal of providing my kids with numerous ways to express themselves through music when/if inspiration strikes. My kids aren't quite big enough to justify getting a full-size electric drum set, but the DED-200 is so adjustable! One really great feature is that the frame easily folds up for storage/transport. Most of the joints just require a drum key to tighten/loosen them. The joints that adjust a cymbal or a drum have t-handle hand grips for making quick adjustments.
Fit & Finish: While assembling the set, I examined all the parts and found them to be very sturdy and well-finished. All the pieces come packaged extremely well, so every piece of this set was flawless.
Included in the Box: Everything you need except for a stool/throne, headphones/amp, or a rug/mat. The instructions I received were in English and included helpful diagrams and frequently asked questions. The only thing I think is missing is a resource for beginners to help them adjust each drum and cymbal to a comfortable average position.
Cymbals: They're neat. I was a bit gentler with them at first. I mean, it feels weird beating on a piece of electronics with a stick. But, they seem to accept those blows squarely on the chin with ease. Apparently, you can add an additional cymbal. There's an additional input for it on the brain. Not sure how to buy an extra yet.
Snare and Tom Toms: I think these are really cool. I think the mesh screen material is super comfortable to play on, and I like that the rims register rim strikes separately from head strikes.
Foot Pedals: They're very nice. They seem to have aluminum pedals with a steel base. Though, they will slide unless you velcro them down or engage the spikes. I have hardwood floors, so I ended up buying a 5ft x 6ft drum mat. The spikes can dig into my drum mat, not my floors.
The Brain: I think it's easy to use, and it does offer some versatility. You can adjust all the drums and cymbals and save those settings. There's a metronome, a song bank, and more than a few preset drum sets. I plugged the brain to one of my guitar amps, and I think it sounds pretty darn good.
My 5 year-old's thoughts: I like the pedals. I also like the cymbals. I like pushing the buttons to change the sounds. I like how many drums there are. Like... there's more than just two drums or something. You can make so many sounds. I like that I can wear headphones or play out loud with an amp.
Conclusion: I'm very happy with my purchase, and I would totally recommend the Donner DED-200 Electric Drum Set to others. Great value for the money!

I have 3 boys and we all play various instruments. I have been wanting to learn snare and drum-set for a while and finally decided to pull the trigger and get a set.
I was torn between a "real" drum set and electronic one but now, after seeing how much my boys like to play when I am not, I am glad I opted for the electronic one. My house would be full of constant "music" if we couldn't wear headphones to play these drums.
This kit took a while to unpack and assemble but was very straightforward. All of the rack pieces come labelled and the instructions are very visual and clear. It took me about an hour to get it all unpacked and put together. It is really nice that it comes with all of the tools you need, including the velcro wire ties for the cables.
The feel of the drums is very close to a real drum head. It's definitely good enough to learn on and the trade off of noise is worth it. We tried a bunch of the different sounds and they are fun, but I pretty much just use the default to practice and learn so I can't speak much to those. The boys love exploring them, though, and if that keeps them engaged, I am happy.
The last thing I would like to touch upon is the adjustability. My boys are all different sizes so it's nice that we can each adjust the set to our preference. As an adult, I can set everything high enough to be comfortable to me but can lower everything enough for my 4-year-old to reach, too.
I will update as I learn more about playing and can speak to the durability over time...
I added a quick video of each default drum and cymbal as played through my bass amp. As much as I would love to have a video of one of us thrashing on this set, we just are not there, yet (one day, though...).

Excellent drum kits , good packaging and fast delivery. It’s worth the price.

Since I spent most of my time to compare between Nitro set and DED-200 set before I purchased, I will mainly explain differences between two sets.
Donner set has 8 inch mesh bass drum head: All other entry level sets use non-mesh or smaller head in order to save cost. I was able put double bass pedal on Nitro set, but it’s definably super tight, and I could tell the bass pad/head wasn’t made for it. I was able to put Tama speed cobra double bass pedal and Iron cobra double base pedal on Donner bass pad without a problem, and I am pretty sure it can take almost all other brand double bass pedals.
Donner rack is better than others: It’s very interesting that it has additional horizontal bar at the bottom of rack. I think this design provides more stable and sturdy structure overall. The additional bar also supports bass pad to stay at same position. It uses standard pipe size on their racks, so you can reuse standard rack clamp from other sets you have or purchase additional part easily. Unfortunately, Nitro mesh kit has different stories here. Nitro rack is overall lower than Donner and it was not comfortable to me. Nitro kit also used non-standard pipe size (smaller dimension) on their racks for some reason, so you may not able to reuse if you have standard size part. I think this will make Nitro kit hard to find replacement part and hard to add something later on too.

As a musician (guitarist) I understand a good quality instrument is key when you are trying to learn. So I bought my daughter a good acoustic drumset. While she loves it, we cant just have it out due to space and of course the volume. This has deterred her away from playing when she likes to because it takes to long to set up. I took her to a music store and she absolutely loved the electric drum set she saw. So I hopped on Amazon and having used Donner guitar equipment, I decided to grab this set. It took me all of 30 minutes to build and it has the ability to fold somewhat so setting up is a breeze if you need to stow it away in a corner. It comes with 5 drums and 3 cymbals but you can expand with a second crash if you wanted to.
I am not a drummer but I play with drummers and understand what a drum is supposed to sound like. This does not sound like an acoustic in the sense that when you hit it, you only hear a tap. Once you hook up to an amp or headphones is when it truly shines. It responds to light and heavy strikes and everything in between. I have no other reference to compare to but it sounds good to me. Some sounds sound raw, some EQed. There is a sound for every music you would like to play. I have been practicing along to music by plugging into the audio input.
I did find that I wanted some of the strike components to sound louder on some sets but then I found out you can adjust the volume individually! This was a great feature. There is a TON of sounds in here. You can adjust timber, kits, use a metronome and put it into demo mode if you want to hear a backing track.
The drums react to force and area where they are hit. I found it cool that you can hit a cymbal and grab it to mute it. Again, not a drummer but I didn't feel like anything was lacking. Except a seat maybe. Everything I imagined it to do, it did well. More than anything I am happy that my daughter can play without annoying the neighbors. I find myself using this a lot because its so quiet with headphones on. I have no experience with electric drums so I cant say at what level these are at in comparison to whats available in this price range I can say that I am happy to have this as a replacement. Sound is clear and crisp with no artifacting, Solidly built with metal and good plastic, metal foot pedals. Even cost the same as my daughters acoustic drum set. I have even recommended to my drummer who cant practice at home since he lives in small apartment.
