john .
1st electronic kit since my first in '75 and love the sounds, versatility and ability to play quiet and share music.
Thank you Donner!
Chris R.
Look, I loved these drums when I first got them. The Mesh feels BETTER than the real thing. And for the price I got it, I was stoked.
However, unless you play the drums very softly, you will quickly break things. The snare and hi-hat in particular are very susceptible to breakage. On the snare, the first thing to go is the piezo wires. For whatever reason they snap after the first jam. I soldered them back together, and now they don't break, but the snare doesn't function properly.
The hi-hats have a large rectangular box around the piezo and circuit board. The front screw receptacle shears off on the first jam. After that you get constant dbl triggers. Putting some rubber sheets minimizes the problem, but not enough. The drum brain re-trigger setting does nothing.
Be prepared to have to learn how to dismantle and repair your edrums. I did make a successful warranty claim, but the replacement parts they sent me broke immediately too. I have yet to make another claim.
The brain itself is ok. Most of the settings seem to do nothing. It isn't fast enough to handle double-time on the hi-hats. I've tested it on two hi-hat cymbals, and one of the crash cymbals, same issue, can't do dbl-time. Yet put that cymbal on the crash or ride hookup, and it works fine. I don't get it. The kit voices are very limited, and control over mid-open hi-hat position is near impossible. So you're left with full open or closed. Full open sounds atrocious and randomly blasts a voice at you at 10x the volume.
Overall, I regret my purchase. I'm still having lots of fun, but I can't do a lot of simple drum techniques and have to adapt my playing. I want to add a dbl-kick but I feel like I'll just be wasting more money.

I wanted to leave a review about Donner’s Customer Service because it has been outstanding. I had an issue with my product over a year after using it and they sent me a new one instantly after hearing something had happened. So if you have an issue with your product, reach out to them because they will make things right. I can’t stress enough how awesome they have been.

Sorry don't have a pic but it looks just as it does in the add, and the quality is there! Bought it as a practice set considering I play in 2 bands and this is perfect for home base. Received it in only ONE WEEK! Thank you for a GREAT product and am interested in purchasing a additional Tom, cymbal both with hardware and cables for this set, keep up the GREAT work!!
Tim B.
This is my first drum set. They were pretty easy to setup. They don’t take up a lot of space and is pretty easy to move. The mesh feels good and I don’t see any wear on them. I plugged my laptop into the drums and I’m able to play along with songs and the Drumeo website.
James J.
While the item is just what I wanted unfortunately a couple weeks after I purchased the price dropped 25%. That is over $100 I wish I had waited to save. It is a good electric kit. It would have been an even better kit at $100 less.
Dennis S.
It is a great set of drums. Well put together , sturdy and very playable. Thank you to my family for a great birthday gift.
k
Ok set. Needs to be able to record and hear at same time.
Thompson
Great affordable drum kit. Retired teacher learning to play. Easy set up!
Bill Laberge
I can't wait to get some more chops on this kit it's a great kit for the money
Ray
Sounds better than most
Truedoogie
was originally on the fence as there are many options around this price point, and ended up choosing this set from the reviews, and no regrets. The set stands up to the abuse of a 3 and 7 yo, nice and sturdy. Initial install was fine, just get some extra zip ties for cord management. I had an old tiny guitar Amp around the house that works just fine. Would recommend.
J. St Clair
Amazing. Just get some better headphones. Great Deal. Great quality drums.
Stacey L. Carty
Great sound quality but I have to keep tightening the joints because they get loose a lot. Otherwise it’s a great setup.
Andy
Sound quality was better then I expected. Also the quality was excellent, they went way out of there way to protect all the components.
Robert
This drum kit was the perfect gift for my 14 year old son. He did not request a drum set and he has never played before, but he took to this right away and is learning how to play with videos. The drum set is very stable, has amazing sound, and is compact enough to use in almost any room of the house. I would highly recommend this set.
Renostarman
They were just the right anniversary gift to my husband . He played drums in a band years ago. So I couldn't have chosen better
Bindy
It’s a good kit if you wanna play and be quiete at the same time. Has about 15 different audio sets on it. Unfortunately you can’t pick and choose what each piece sounds like but all in all, it was worth the purchase. It even comes with the option to add extra pieces to it which is pretty cool.
Snackin
Great set! Quality sound, easy to assemble, and made of high quality material. Has a much more comfortable bass drum, snare and hi-hat than other electronic drum sets I've seen and tested out. A drummer who is used to a traditional set may have to make slight adjustments with their respective techniques, but that's the same for all electronic sets. I like the drum covers better than some other sets because they aren't smooth as glass like cheaper ones. Instead they have a different consistency for better sound. I easily hooked it into a bass amp and it sounded great. Also sounds great with a good pair of headphones. I purchased the two year warranty, but the way this set is built, I doubt I'll even need one. Would highly recommend, and I am extremely happy with it.
Jason
Great, better than I expected, recommend 100%
David Bucci
This drum set is amazing in everything. sound quality, value. design for drummer. I recommend strongly for beginner and others, too.
DJ Jazzy Josh
Best Electronic set in the price range. The drum module is extraordinarily flexible.
RyGuyReviews
I picked this up as a dedicated at-home practice kit, which for me is perfect.
Vincent Vega
Excellent kit and price, impressed, with the sound and quality, bought a small guitar amp and I'm rocking, first electronic kit I've
bought, always played a acoustic set, well worth the money so far
Fabrice
Electronic drums face a tough challenge for anyone playing music more subtle than your standard rock/pop arrangement. If your standard rock-and-roll drum set is all you need, the Donner ded-300 will meet your needs and then some!
Jeff
Boys aged 11-18 all love it and we don’t have to hear them playing to their hearts’ content!
Eric W.
Super drum kit for home use. Also ideal for learning to drum. Also suitable for if you are more advanced.
cotyyyyy
This e kit is a very good value for the money. It is very responsive on the pads, and the amount of sounds at your disposal for each pad is quite nice.
BS Detector
Excellent sound, easy set up, light. I’m having a blast playing these
Dieter N.
Received my set for Christmas and I am very happy. The sound is great and I love all the inputs. I am a recording artist and this set has been great for recording. It fits well in my space and I would definitely recommend this set for any skill level.
Patrick91
I love this set, it 's good for live shows and works excellent for studio sessions. I would recommend it to my friends....
Kevin Miller
I loved these drums it was easy to assemble and it sounds AWESOME
DJ Jazzy Josh
I bought this kit for Christmas for Joyce... she loves it. We are both now learning as the play alongs are very good indeed. The sounds are very realistic. It is robust and in true Donner style it will last for a long time. A fine piece of equipment.
jon searls
the other manufacturers, and for my limited budget, the Donner ded-300 was the best for the buck. We've got a few gigs coming up, and I can't wait to unleash this kit.
Madhava Nanda
For beginners
Eric
I have been more of an acoustic drum kind of guy but that might have changed some buying this set. The delivery was faster than expected which was really nice! I like that I can play it pretty much any time without making my family members mad at me. I also liked the fact of how good it sounds and the verity of sounds and other things that it comes with. There were only a couple of things that I was disappointed with. The set up was a little confusing at times but really not too bad. What I was looking forward to was receiving a drum seat/throne and the pair of headphones that other unboxings had received. Other than that, I really like this product!
Sticks53
Easy to set up. Study and responsive.
Alex
Dooner hits a homerun with this kit! The pads have a great feel and response off the sticks. Very soft and easy to play. The sounds that are build into the module are direct sounds from real drums samples. This kit would work great in a live, studio/recording or low volume practice situation. The pads are a really quite foam material, so even with headphones the acoustic sound of the pads aren't loud at all. Great kit!
JustADad
I bought this to get up to speed for the church music group. It had been 32 years since I played a set and decided to buy this to tighten up my chops. It works great. Has line in and line out so you can run music into the headphones and adjust the volume for the set to create the perfect balance especially if you have apps that cut out the drum tracks. I bought a Tama double bass pedal since the one that comes with it isn't the best quality. I haven't messed with the settings too much as I like the pre programmed sounds based on what I'm playing. I like the heads. They feel great. Perfect for getting ready for playing the real set at church in front of a crowd.
Chad
The children have started to use it, like it very much, the sound quality is very good, the tone is also very good, can learn at home.
PhilSalaz
I think this kit is great. The module has some great sounds on it and is easy to use. The snare and kick pads feel nice to hit. And it's a pretty sturdy kit. No complaints here.
Drummer Dave
Great kit for the money. Very good tones, durability and sensitivity.
Orkun Toros
Awesome set. My son loves it when he can play it ( I've kinda taken it over..lol). For the price...can't be beat!
Antikythera
I love these things, I'll expand on it later, but I'll say I running through and old Peavy amp, show in pics, and 2 14 inch speakers.......sounds so good. These drums sound real. It's awesome, if you high hat needs louder sound, just turn it up in the unit.. I'll revise and write up more, but this is very nice quality for the money. Almost unbelievable.
The Bearded Guy
Make no mistake, this is a great kit for it's versatility. I initially purchased an electronic kit to give me the ability to switch between multiple different kit sounds in a live setting to allow for more versatility in tone.
SteveO
I was looking for more than a beginner drum set at a decent price. I owned a ded-200 in the past and it was a very nice set but also very basic. This set has upgraded features at a very reasonable price.
JEB
It was easy to assemble and the sound is great. I just have to buy an amp for it. But overall I’m satisfied
Jesus
The sound quality is great and the system is easy to use. A very good set for beginner to intermediate players. Customer service that comes along with Donner is superb. They answered and fixed every question or concern i had with the drum set
Michael
The drum set was easy to set up, everything is labelled, so no leads in wrong sockets. Every piece feels top quality, the frame itself could probably be better, but it's standard for these types of sets.
Opsman56
Fantastic versatility. It will take a while to explore the features but sounds great in the studio and ideal for recording with.
Richard
I can play these without p$##ing off my neighbors. But, I still prefer an acoustic set in every way.
Jim G
Great sound when hooked up to my fender 212!
Heliboy
I love the way it sounds, but it is very difficult to get the base drum to not double-hit each time you step on the foot pedal.
Keith
The training aids and songs can improve even an experienced drummers tightness and timing. Very quiet pads with a great feel that are very responsive are nice as well.
Walter
Purchased this item as a Christmas present for my son; he jams on it a couple hours per day; his iPhone connect to the module and he plays along his favorite music. The module makes great sounds; the kit sounds like, well, a drum kit. I couldn't be happier with this set.
I did encounter a problem with one of the cymbals seven months after the purchase; I contacted Donner via email asking where I could purchase a replacement cymbal; the next day, I received a response from their customer service; "We will make this right for you..." I was speechless.
AFA
It has 50 sounds you can play along with. They give you the drum with the song but you can turn it off and just hear the music and play what you want. So that's kind of nice. I guess that's about it. There's more settings I haven't played with yet. 4/5 stars just because I feel the high hat is not good.
Kinger
We set this up in my living room, and its small size fits perfectly. The cool thing is that he had some older equipment including a small mixer, and set up an actual studio for me. We even have the ability to record from it. With the flip of one switch I can practice on the headphones, or flip one more switch and plug in the speakers and we're full-on, loud and jamming!
Mark
Great starter kit for beginners. Sound quality is good and a bonus for parents is that your child can practice with headphones.
Mike
It was delivered quickly and setup was very simple. Kit is very small.
PaulM
I’m very impressed by the simplicity of the set up . It’s response to basic skills to some more advanced playing.
Happy Customer
My daughter absolutely loves it. It was a bit difficult to assemble. The instructions were interesting and I may have gotten frustrated at times. But it was worth it.
RyGuyReviews
Set is decent and very easy to setup
chris
This kit had the quality in sound I was looking. I fell in the love the different types of acoustic kits stored on the sound module. I just love it and have a warranty on it, so no worries. I do love it. This is probably the best way to go because of the price and drum samples.
boirokk
My child enjoys it. I don't have the ear splitting sound of some one out of tune.
tellwood
In general it is ok
MI
Easy to assemble and does not take up too much space... Love it
Rhodes Autos Inc.
A perfect kit for an old drummer who hasn't played in years. I'm back!I really like the look and feel of kit.
fedora_lover
slow delivery
Whoa Yayee
I would buy this product again.
JuRo
This drum set is fantastic. My doughtwr loves it. She did reaearch before asking for this set and she was correct, it is great. The ability to hook up an amo so we can listen to her play is very cool, but so is the earphones for when we don't want to hear her play...lol. It was very easy to put together and everything cam in great condition and securley packaged. Sounds great adn comes with everything you need to start playing right away. I will say that I am not fond of the stool it comes with. Doesn't feel secure and I plan to buy a better one, but all in all, fantastic deal.
Bryan
Good quality for its price, not to taxing to assemble.
Diaspora
Drum is something special and I love it! Nice and compact.
Doug W
Absolute unbelievable drum kit for the money.
They play and sound fantastic.
Elisabeth F
Bought this drum kit for my son as a birthday present. I don’t know much about electronic drums but recognised Donner as a well known brand in music instruments and at an affordable price.Delivery was prompt and efficient.
Brandt
A perfect kit for an old drummer who hasn't played in years. I'm back!
Joe Suarez
because im a beginner trying to use equipment thats better in the hands of a professional.
GmanJeff
Basically, this may be a decent kit
MacCanine
Firstly this kit is great for a beginner or kids starting to get into drumming!
It's an upgrade from the DED-200 the module is a little more involved but has more functions and you have the option to add an additional floor tom and crash cymbal. So the kit can grow with your advancement.
Lightweight, compact build quality is great and at the price point what's not to like!
The only down side is its not ready to go out of the box i.e. a throne or headphones, but most drummers have there own! It lets you figure out what works for you! The only thing I'd change out would be the bass pedal.... but that's only due to personal preference.
Overall a great kit! Worth every penny!
Chris
The combination of mesh heads, kit customisation features and built in learning tools, allows for increased incentive to play and encourages creativity.
George D Cummings
Ok set. Needs to be able to record and hear at same time.
The Drug Ogre
It’s good for beginners but not for intermediate or expert drummers
Little Jairo
I highly recommend this kit. My buddies were blown away when they heard them. Definitely worth waiting for!
Sean
This is my first drum kit. It was easy to assemble by just following the step by step instructions in the manual. It sounds great. However, I really wish it came with a drum stool. I'm looking forward to learning how to play this instrument and hoping this will last me years.
Roy C. Ramsey
Very good for first drums
Milkman
The point of all this is: I home-school our two young grandsons, who have been learning to play guitar but had also shown great interest in playing drums. They are PUMPED! You can't imagine what a great incentive this is for doing good schoolwork! (i.e., "Get your math done well, and you get 5 minutes on the drums")
James
I m brand new to drumming. This set makes me want to play it...
Justin Johnston
New player here. Great sounds and lots of fun. Although it’s great that a stool, sticks and headphones are included, they are of a worse quality than the kit. The headphones are passable, but the sticks and stool are really bad. The sticks should not be used at all. They are very soft, unfinished and leave marks on the cymbals. Using a good quality sticks, and the cymbals still look new. The stool/throne is wobbly no matter how much tightening is done. Small and very uncomfortable.
Brian
Easy set up. Sturdy construction and good sound. I only wish it had blue tooth capability. Other than that I love it!
Will
It was a nice bonus to be able to dial my sound to be able to play at odd hours without distribing neighbors, unlike an acoustic kit will so often do.
Jazz
I've had this kit for close to 6 months. It's very well made, triggers are extremely responsive and sensitive, many different kits and sounds to choose from, and the module includes some cool features.
Rock
Easy and quick to set up, takes headphones for quiet play or has stereo outputs for louder venues. The module has loads of sounds to keep you busy customizing your sound or allow you to change it up whenever you feel like. Flexability is always a plus in the drum world. Try this this out!!.

Donner DED-300 is a solid and fully-featured electronic drum set at an entry-level price. It is surprising that there's almost no video reviews of this set, as it is a fantastic deal as of early 2022. It plays well, the built-in sounds are fine for practice (though not as good as in dedicated drum software). This set is easy to record on PC via MIDI, it has lots of adjustments and way more features than most other drums in this price range (and above it). If you'd like to buy Roland e-drums with similar specs you could easily spend over $1500++. The mesh bass/kick drum pad works well with double-kick pedals, you can play blast beats etc. (just make sure to adjust the settings in the module to your liking). Sensitivity range is wide. Toms, snare and cymbals are all dual zone (except the hi-hat), which is important, and of a good size. You can program each zone to an individual sound (I mapped the toms hoops triggers to an extra tom, china and ride bell) - so all dual zone pads have added value. The hoops on snare and toms are of a perfect height, they don't get in the way. All cymbals are chokeable (you have to firmly squeeze their silicon front edge for that). The hi-hat has 3 positions (controllable though pedal) - open, half-open, closed (though half-open has a very small range were the pedal triggers it, so you have to get used to that). The module sounds decent for practice and has lots of settings. The mesh tension on toms and snare is adjustable by rotating the hoop. For a drummer with a regular acoustic drums background, the playing dynamics with mesh heads are similar to real drums. The silicone cymbal pads don't feel the same as real metal cymbals of course, but that is to be expected, and they play just fine dynamics wise. The DED-300 works well for recording MIDI drums on PC to use with DAW and drum software - basically, plug and play (but depending on your PC hardware you might have some latency - that's the PC issue, not the e-drums kit itself), no ghost note tails. The module has definitely enough volume output to headphones (some other e-drums lack in that, according to reviews). The rack is adjustable, is high enough for tall people and is sturdy enough to hold the kit in place (including the snare). The rack bars are metal, but the joints/connectors are plastic, though they do work. Longevity wise it is yet to be seen as I had this kit for only about a month so far. The drum module has two extra inputs for expansion (you can add one extra cymbal and one extra tom, dual zone, though you could probably plug any compatible pad and map it to the sound you want). I bought and added an extra cymbal from Donner, so that works. The manual is fine, but could be more informative. There were no issues when assembling the kit (it might take 30 to 60 minutes). The module menus are also more or less self-explanatory, though more detailed manual on that would be helpful. The only issue I had so far is that I couldn't get the reverb effect to work even though I switched it on in the module - but that is not a deal breaker. This kit also looks good, I like the light-gray mesh pads. Tip 1: better use the drum sticks with nylon heads as they don't leave any marks on the pads surface, unlike the wooden ones. Tip 2: a common question - how loud it this e-kit acoustically? The answer is it is not loud (the mesh pads are relatively quiet, the silicone cymbal pads are more noisy - they sound more like as you would be hitting a tire or a practice rubber pad or a book, but still way way less noisy compared to regular acoustic drums). You would have to figure out a way to dampen/absorb the vibrations from hits (especially from the kick drum and pedals). You can find lots of videos on YouTube on how to build a DIY drum noise/vibration isolation platform using tennis balls, wood panels etc. If you live in a house this kit is fine as is, but for an apartment you need to have vibration isolation. Otherwise your neighbors will feel your playing through walls (playing at night is a no-no anyways). So the e-drum kit would work in an apartment if you play it in the daytime and isolate the vibration (and if you are lucky with your neighbors). Tip 3: as it is an electronic product made with plastic, nylon and silicone - don't place it near the heater, high humidity or in a direct sunlight (UV). Overall, the DED-300 is a surprisingly great kit, especially considering the price (under $500 in early 2022). It would work well both for budget-conscious pros and for beginners. Highly recommended.

I Love this kit!!!! It arrived on time, it took me no time to set up. As I've played drums in the past I was up and playing in no time. A great investment that I can bang till my heart's content without bothering a soul!!!! Thanks Donner
