Overall, this is a quality piece of equipment that sounds very nice. My only complaint, and it's the reason this did not get 5 stars from me, is that the power button doesn't seem to be 100% responsive (very slow to turn the piano on and sometimes doesn't register presses) and the volume knob is very loose where there's a lot of wiggle and play when it's being operated.

I had been looking at this piano for some time, just based off of how nice it looked. I have always wanted to learn piano but never had the luxury of being able to take lessons. When I was younger I ended up getting a very small keyboard to practice on, and I would also practice scales on the real pianos at school. It feels so much better to play on a real piano than a keyboard that has no resistance or weight to it.I pulled the trigger on this as a holiday gift for myself, so I can fulfill my dream of learning to play now as an adult. I’ve been using Pianote which is a great resource, and the piano’s MIDI capability works great with my laptop.This piano feels as close as you can get to a real piano. I was thrilled when I first tried it and felt how accurate the weighted keys are. They feel heavier in the lower register and lighter in the higher register. The sound sounds amazing to me, and I don’t feel the need to use headphones or an amp, though I am a beginner and don’t have a lot of experience with different pianos.The sound and feel of it are both so great I don’t even think about it not having the features most keyboards have. I wanted to just play piano, and for that this is perfect. I’ve had this now for about a month and it has brought me so much joy and happiness. Practicing on it is the best part of my day. I don’t normally write reviews, but felt compelled to for this piano. I don’t feel that I will need to upgrade to a real piano for a very long time, which is good because I don’t have the space for one!So if you’re someone who is interested in fulfilling your or someone else’s dream of playing the piano, this is a great piano to start with.

I received the bench several days before the piano. The bench will stay up if you open it all the way, but be cautious not to keep it partly open or you may jam your finger like I did… don’t say I didn’t warn you.As for the color. As many have stated, they do not match. I provided a side by side photo to compare. The bench is similar, but has a red tint while the piano seems more of a yellow wood.I don’t mind because it could pass for the shadow since it’s lower than the piano. I still think they look great together.The pedal feels like a hard plastic and reminds me of a cognac leather color.The legs of the piano are metal but you can’t really tell unless you get up close and personal. So unless you’ll crawl under it, shouldn’t be a problem! :)I am new to piano (or any instrument) and I love the weight of the keys. If they were any softer it may be easy for me to goof it up.If you’re gifting this, note that my keyboard box arrived with the original Donner box name and image of a keyboard on the box, making it so that anyone seeing it will immediately know what’s inside.Update: I’ve been playing it every single day (often twice a day) for two weeks now. Still love it!

I read the reviews and watched YouTube reviews and despite all the positive feedback I was skeptical.Honestly the faux wood was a concern. I just knew it was going to look cheap… it doesn’t. It’s surprisingly nice.The sound, build and action are all more than I expected for the price. My only complaint is the power switch. It would be nice to have a true switch instead of a mushy button that doesn’t actually click to let you know you turned it on. Oh yeah and hex screws instead of Philips head would be really nice for assembly.

I absolutely love this piano! The weighted keys feel natural to play. It fits perfectly in our homeschool room, I love that I can adjust the volume to fit our needs. My complaint is that the petals are cheap so I don’t see them lasting very long and one of them already squeaks after a short two weeks. The only difference that I hear while playing is that the pedal does not hold a note the same. A true acoustic piano holds the note and then picks up the hold on new notes while keeping the sound of the other note in the background. This piano keeps them all at the same volume, which can almost be distracting. All in all it’s a beautiful purchase that fit our space and needs.

I was skeptical spending $600+ on a piano without seeing it person, but this DDP-80 is absolutely so beautiful and the sound is excellent for a keyboard. The feet on the legs are adjustable so on my tile floor and it fits in awesome with my mid-century modern house vibe. I highly recommend it!

I received the piano quickly after my order. The set up was pretty straight forward. One of the legs had a crack or divot in the wood. The dealer said they would send me a replacement in three weeks from China factory, but I set it up as is awaiting the replacement leg. I purchased the bench with the piano. It sounded like a regular piano. I have a spinet piano, but I needed to have a piano that I could use with headphones. I am pleased so far.

We've had or Donner DDP 80 for only two and a half weeks now, and we're very happy with it. It's for my daughter's upcoming piano lessons. Our choice was between this or a Yamaha, and after much research, viewing many videos, and a trip to two different music stores playing on grand pianos, we chose to try this one. Of course it looks beautiful. The keys are very weighted, but we have no issues with that feature. My daughter actually likes the feel of the weighted keys. It is touch sensitive as well. When you press the keys harder, it plays louder. That was a feature the piano teacher said we needed. To me, it sounds more like an upright church piano, and sounds very good in person. We love the sound. I wanted a good quality instrument that would sound beautiful when practiced on so that when my daughter played, she'd hear the beautiful sound of it and be encouraged to play even more. Well, we have an instrument that does so. To me, it sounds LIKE A PIANO, not a keyboard. The left side keys sound deep and absolutely beautiful just like a PIANO. If you are considering this as a beginner and are skeptical, so was I! Very skeptical! But I'm very happy with the Donner DDP 80 that I have in my possession. Knowing what I now know, touching it, hearing it, and feeling it personally, I'd definitely buy it again. We love it! And we purchased the bench to go with it. We're very happy with the DDP 80.

I was looking for a piano to learn on and didn't want a cheap looking or sounding keyboard. I already have a small MIDI keyboard so was hoping for something that sounded great and had the least amount of distraction possible. I started learning the piano back in the early 1980s at the age of 8 and by the time I was 24 had reached Grade 7. I hadn’t touched a piano in 25 years due to having no room in the house and wanted to take it up again. I was nervous to start with that the Donner DDP-80 would have the feel of a real piano but having now played it I need not have worried. The feel is exactly as I remember my old acoustic piano used to be. I may be incredibly rusty but I really am loving re visiting the pieces I used to play as a teenager/young adult. The tone of the DDP-80 is incredible. When I told my wife I wanted to buy a digital piano she was very sceptical that the it would sound like a real on but she was amazed when I started to play it at how good it really is. The DDP-80 also looks amazing in my new music room.

I am in love with my new keyboard. I waited almost a year to find a PERFECT gift from my family for my 30th birthday. I finally found this beautiful keyboard with weighted keys. It arrived in 4 days and I have been playing almost non-stop since then! I am not a professional player but a relatively advanced amateur. I am very pleased with the sound, the feel of the keys and with the aesthetics. If I had one complain is that the sustain pedal seems a bit off, it works but not as noticeable as with accoustic pianos. But it's something that for an advanced amateur doesn't affect my experience much. 100% recommend it!

- The controls/plugs being on the back side make it impossible to put it flush against a wall (or in my case, a table) For me, having the controls on the underside would be way better. Maybe even a hook underneath to hang my headphones neatly?
- The on/off button is annoying.
- It looks more like plastic than I would like.
- Overall, I'm pleased with this purchase, it's exactly what I need to get my piano practice in without bothering my housemates or looking at an ugly keyboard! Thank you Donner for making this - with a few tweaks to the design it would be 5 stars!

I love the aesthetic of the piano. I’m am getting more and more used to the sound. It is a brighter sound than I normally would prefer. It would be nice if there were options for making the sound a bit darker in tone. The key actions feels pretty good. I have played and owned a number other brands including Yamaha, Roland, Casio, Dexibell, Williams.

Love this piano! It has such a great feel when you play it and the sound is so good! I had an upright piano that we swapped for this because of the style and the ability to control the volume and I was afraid I would miss my “real” piano. But I don’t! We made a great decision! :)

I bought this set for my wife as an early birthday gift, but we both love playing the piano and it has been wonderful to have in the house. There is of course something that is lost when not using an acoustic piano, but this is the best electric piano I've had the fortune to play. The weighted keys feel great and are very responsive to different sensitivities when being played. The speakers built into the piano sound great, and it is wonderful to be able to adjust volume/use headphones in an apartment setting. It was super easy to put together and start playing, and it looks great as well. Highly recommend this instrument for someone looking for a high quality and low profile electric piano, we've played it every day since it arrived :)

We discovered the Donner brand and this model while searching for a keyboard that would match our pseudo mid-century modern decor, yet be of good quality. The reviews were good, so we took a leap of faith and ordered it. The online ordering process was straight forward and the delivery was on time, earlier than expected actually. The item was well packed and was easy to assemble. Then came the real test, playing it to hear sound quality and feel. It exceeded expectations. The weighted keys felt good to play and the speakers, hidden on the underside emitted a good quality piano sound. We have yet to play with the other features, such as hooking up to a computer, but plan to in the weeks ahead....as well as replace the ugly folding chair with something more appropriate. :-)

Bought the DDP-80 Wooden Style 88 Key Weighted Digital Piano with Stand & 3 Pedal and really like it. The problem is that I ordered the matching bench, and it did not ship with the piano. I contacted customer service and they said it was shipping separately (the emails and shipping notifications I received said they were shipping together) so a week later I received the bench. The shipping box had holes in it and looks like it had been crushed. I opened it up and sure enough the bench was destroyed. I contacted Customer service several times and provided pictures of the unopened package and the damaged bench itself. The problem is that the bench WAS in stock, and is still in stock to this very day. I asked about this and was told it was an error on their website and that it wasn't in stock, and I then said I would be ok to wait until it was back in stock as I wanted the matching bench. They replied again and said there was no plan to restock it anytime soon. Then they said my only option was a refund. They said the refund would arrive back in my payment account in 5-7 business days. I waited 10 business days and still no refund. Contacted customer service yet again, and they finally sent the refund. I just checked the Donner site before writing this review, and sure enough, the bench is in stock. It became pretty clear that the only reason they were saying it wasn't in stock is that they didn't want to pay to have another shipped to me. I just selected the bench, put it in my cart and go all the way to the payment screen before backing out. Clearly, it's in stock, it's been in stock and I was lied to. The piano itself seems pretty nice so far, but I won't do business with them again based on this experience and the 10 emails I had to send to customer service just to get most of what I paid for.

Our children recently started piano lessons and their teacher advised to invest in an 88 key piano. I was looking for something that would blend in with our decor. The keys are weighted and in working condition no issues as I saw another review that there was a key not working. The volume is great to adjust and it also gives you the headphone option. I’ve been loving mine! I do have an upright piano from childhood, but am currently living in an old mill style building with tall ceilings and little insulation. I figured my neighbors would appreciate the fact I can plug in my headphones to practice. This also comes in handy if you have an open floor plan and someone else wants to watch the television at the same time. It’s convenient for me, sounds great, and looks adorable! I didn’t love the bench option, so purchased a fun, bohemian style bench instead. I’m a very satisfied customer!

Went out on a limb here. After tuning an old piano for 250 dollars and it still not sounding well I got rid of it and put ‘minipiano’ in my search engine. I found you all and I am SO happy I did. 88 keys, great weight on the fingers (I’ve always hated the feel of electric pianos) sounds great! I can play piano again. I have already recommended it to others.
Also the price was very reasonable for the quality. Like 650-700 dollars. That is three piano tunes where I live!!!

The piano itself is very nice in person and seems to be made fairly well. The sound quality is good. I bought this piano as a Christmas gift but was very disappointed with the return policy. Donner should reevaluate that policy given the nature of their products and the crazy timing of shipping around the holidays. I went ahead and purchased the product but had to rush the gift-giving "in-case" there was an issue with the piano.

Rather than move my console traditional piano across country again (hard on the piano and my finances), I decided to see if a digital piano was a good alternative. Our holiday gift to ourselves was the Donner-80 Digital piano which arrived promptly and well packed. The instructions are simple and assembly was remarkably trouble free. (You need a Phillips head screwdriver to attach legs to keyboard base; the separate bench came with an appropriate tool). We love the sound and the action on the keyboard. We do plan to ask a quilter friend to fashion a keyboard cover to protect from dust. Great job, Donner!

I've had this for about 3 weeks now and I'm still in love with it. It was easy and straightforward to assemble, and it feels super sturdy. The sound is great and the keys feel like a real acoustic piano. Specifically, the black keys have this subtle matte and non-slippery feel compared to other pianos/keyboards I've played on.
Overall, it's everything I wanted; mimics the feel and sound of an acoustic piano, doesn't have the extra buttons, beats, sounds/samples that I never use, and is not sore to look at in my living room. I play it for multiple hours a day every day and have had no issues and I get excited every time I sit to play.
