Perfect for your first Amp!

My Les Paul version guitar was delivered and when I open it one of the tuning pegs were bent and fell off. I believe this was caused by the delivery provider as it was packed well. I contacted Donner and they resolved the issue and provided a new one. The guitar was very nice for the cost and sounds great and My grandson loves it. You can't go wrong purchasing a Donner guitar. The cost alone is a real bargain for this type of a guitar and I have no complaints. I also purchased an amp from Donner and it produces a high quality sound.

This was bought as a gift, but I did get to see them unbox, open, hook up, and use the item. PLENTY of power for practicing in a basement, bedroom, etc. All the controls and settings worked, and it sounded good throughout all the settings. As I mentioned, it was given as a gift, and went over real well. They loved it. Money well spent in this case.

This is the perfect guitar amp for my use. It has a good sound with plenty of volume for my needs. It is compact and well-built with three adjustments to tweak the tone. Very happy with this purchase.

My new amp is working great with my new guitar. Great sound for the price!
Bart
Good sound quality for the money.

Can’t complain. Good sound and good price. I’m a pro musician (trumpet and piano) and play guitar for fun, so it worked out for me.
Ray Lencho
Purchased this along with an electric drum set, and it’s very high quality, As far as feel and sound. A lot of settings to play with, perfect for beginners.
David
This little thing does have some kick to it! Man, it's very loud,& once the over drive button is turned on it gets louder . Man, it does have a good sound.
David
Not a great guitarist, but video to show the amp works great. Can't really display the volume and finer tuning, but I'm very happy with it. Very competitive at the price. 5/5 stars.

This small amp, designed for practice in an apartment or home does everything it should. Small in size, with plenty of volume and broad range tone controls, it's great for low volume playing. It can be fairly loud, not Rolling Stones in concert loud, but more than loud enough. The price is reasonable, the quality is there etc. This would be a great amp for a novice guitarist, or as a practice amp for any player. If your neighbours are easily annoyed, it does have a headphone jack.

sound ok, good value for the money, good for beginner and for peoples don't want to spend a lots of money for a good value amp.

Great amp to bring around camping. Inexpensive. The knobs turn slowly allowing you to get the most out of your tunes via adjustment.

Overall great amp, but first, I want to get it out there that I bought this amp for the Donner electric guitar Stratocaster style and I prior to this owned the 3 watt mini amp that came with the bundle. The difference wasn't huge, but there was a substantial cut in the amount of buzzing and overall a cleaner and louder sound. Also the different options like base really help so I would say it was worth advancing from the 3 watt amp to this. I plan on starting a pedalboard, and if you are, I would recommend changing from the 3 watt to the 10 watt. For some though, it may not be worth the money, but if you plan on starting a pedal board, you might as well get this.

Today I got my hands on the Donner DEA-1 Guitar Amplifier. Though I first started doodling around on the guitar a quarter century ago, I haven’t really gotten serious about it until recently. Consequently, I’ve been trying out every bit of gear I can to find what works for me.
This amp works for me.

The Donner DEA-1 amp is a quality made combo amp for a student or as a practice amp. The amp's adjustable controls (Gain, Volume,Treble, Middle and Bass) provide an extensive tonal range to suit various music tastes. There is also a Boost button for rock & roll lead guitar solos.
The amp is compact and light weight. It is rated at 10 watts audio output and has a 6.5" speaker. There is a stereo input for a cd player, cell phone, laptop, etc. and a stereo output for headphones and input to an external amp.
This a great amp and the price is right.

Great low cost amp for beginners. Great for my son to start off with.
Hawk eye
I'm a guitarist of on-and-off playing for nearly 15 years, and several bouts of Gear Acquisition Syndrome has seen me owning numerous amps. When a niece and nephew were living with me and my parents last year, I worried one of my nicer small amps in my bedroom would get damaged, so I bought a Fender Frontman 10G. I like it's clean tone, and if something were to happen to it, I'd be a lot less stressed than if it were one of my nicer amps that got damaged. I recently decided I wanted another amp to run in stereo with the Frontman, with the niece and nephew gone now. None of my tube amps would really voice well with the little Frontman, so I decided to try another "beginner" amp. I bought a LyxPro 20 watt amp and it literally fell apart when I took a peek inside of it. It was haphazardly assembled, and I wasn't impressed with it's shrill tone. I got this Donner, and as my review title states, I find this to be the best sounding "beginner" amp that's priced below $80. This amp sounds almost as good as, and better than the Fender Frontman 10G. What do I mean? This Donner has a nice clean channel, but it doesn't quite have that lovely Fender shimmer. However, the Frontman's overdrive channel sounds terrible. It's badly over-compressed and has literally no dynamic. By comparison, the overdrive on this Donner sounds more bearable. It's not as compressed, and thanks to it's 3 band EQ, can deliver some dynamic range in the overdrive. The 3 band EQ (Treble, Middle, and Bass knobs) is in my opinion what makes this little amp so great. This feature is very rarely seen on low priced amps like this Donner, and while it makes little difference to a beginner, I as an experienced guitarist with many different guitars appreciate the 3 band EQ, since this really helps my various guitars voice their tone properly through this amp. If I had to choose between this Donner and the Frontman, I would take the Donner, much as I like the Frontman's clean tone. I also did open up the back of this amp, and found it assembled much more cleanly and thoroughly than both the Frontman and the LyxPro. Both the amp's PCB (Printed Circuit Board) and input transformer are mounted to a metal chassis, and the PCB is grounded to the chassis in a few places. So the quality of this Donner as an assembled unit also lends weight to my argument that this is one of the best low price beginner amps. Since I have several nice amps, I am going to gripe about this Donner's speaker. It's a cheap unit that really can't handle the tonal spectrum of this amp. The speaker shrieks in pain at higher mid and treble settings, and farts and flabs when you dial up the bass. But I can't dock points off my review score for this though; Again, this is a low priced amp, and one cannot expect a high quality speaker to come with it. Heck, just ONE of the six speakers I have in my custom designed 3D printed speaker cabs cost more than this amp does! While I've recommended a number of amps to both beginners and experts alike, I can also recommend this Donner. A beginner (or a family member/friend that wants them to try playing guitar) can get this amp, knowing that it's a well assembled unit that can sound good without spending a lot. An expert can get this amp for a low price, still find it sounding decent enough and either use it as an amp that may take some abuse, or even do some "hacks" with it. For my part, I'll run this Donner in stereo with the Frontman for a while, using effects pedal for overdrive and distortion. Eventually though, I see myself calculating the impedance of this amp, and seeing if I can rig this Donner to my 3D printed speaker cabinets to hear how the amp sounds with nice speakers.

Well, it's an Amp. It's nothing special, but it gets the job done at the end of the day. All in all, it's fairly alright : )

I have been looking for a practice amp (and one that I could share with my son) for a while now. There are a variety of options (in a variety of price ranges). Since I own some high end tube amps, I wanted something that could take the beating of a 8 year old learning the guitar and that I could haul back and forth to my places where I usually practice at.
This little guy fit the bill completely. Of course this is not an amp for professional gigs, it is specifically made for practice and its really nice features relate specifically to that.
- Input for MP3 player: I use a little old iPod to play my backing tracks and play along songs, and it is perfect. The ability to adjust the volume along with the main volume knob is excellent which allows me to turn it up or down in sync
- Headphone jack for quiet practice: The great thing about this is that you can use it in conjunction with the Aux input, allowing you to go wild without waking up anyone. I have used it quite a bit – I did buy a 3.5mm extension cable to give me some more room.
Since I play more blues/jazz fusion type of music, I have not used the Boost function much. However my son who loves heavier stuff basically only play on this amp with the boost turned on. Boost is an understatement here, using it literally kicks the volume up a whole lot, so it is not something that you would use mid song for a solo for example. For him he sets the volume with the boost already ON.
Distortion. I have been very surprised by how loud this little guy can get before it the sounds become static. Every non-tube amp that I have used in the past usually handle about 70 of total volume + gain before starting to sound artificially distorted and plainly put, not very pleasant. Without using the boost, I have been able to turn this baby up to about 9 volume and 8 gain (which is very loud) while matching up with my rhythm guitar player’s tube Blues Jr.
Mid/High/Low: Though it is a little guy, the ability to dial in you preferred tone is certainly here. I was working on Carlos Santana “Europa” which is has a very unique tonality, and at low volumes (about 40% or so) was able to dial in very very close to the sound that I can get (at very loud volume) in my 40W Blues Deluxe. So in terms of practice, this has been absolutely perfect for me. And for its overall purpose, which was to share it with my son, it has been spot on. He has been “shredding” on this thing daily while stayin away from my very expensive gear for the time being.
Extras: They included with the amp two headphone adapters (1/4' to 3.5mm) and a male/male 3.5mm cable to connect to an audio source like an MP3 player.
I would highly recommend this for any beginner guitarist, younger kids learning to play, and older players like myself who need an additional amp for practice sessions and simply to just jam along old favorites.
Good stuff. I have been trying to explore newer brands that have great reviews from other musicians and have been constantly surprised and able to save some $$. I am not just endorsing this brand, what I am doing is trying to spread the word that, for the hobbyist musician, music gear does not have to be expensive to sound awesome.

This is a great amp for the money. It is a smaller amp with a great sound. Would definitely recommend this for beginners and home use. Highly recommend!

I ordered this amp for my son. He's 13 and is a beginner. This has decent sound and is loud enough that I can hear him learning from the basement easy. The unit is still small enough to move around. Not bad for the money. Definitely recommend for beginners!
CATCH
Great product for the beginner guitar enthusiast.... good sound for a small product. Clean tone is excellent, sounds great at low volume and at medium...starts to sound a little distorted when cranked up to high.

Great guitar amp! I purchased this for my daughter who is learning to play and she loves it.
Ginger M Parker
This is a great beginner amp for my 12 year old. We live in an apartment complex and the maximum volume is perfect for the setting in which we live...not too loud, but just right for playing.
Ashli Smith
I really like this amp! I’m a beginner myself, learning to play bass, and it’s basic and user friendly. Great sound comes from it as well. I’m so glad I purchased this!

It’s not to loud, it’s great for a beginner that’s just starting out learning how to play the bass guitar. The local guitar shop here wanted almost $200for the exact same amp! I think I got a great deal.
Customer
I can't believe what i paid for this. Easily worth double. Quality of the box shows and feels like solid construction . Im so glad i found out about this company!

For the size and wattage I was very surprised! Very clean, crisp and clear. I tried it on all the settings and played a variety (of what i can play) and you really cant beat this for the price! Perfect for practice and jam sessions. I play mostly grungier things like three days grace and evanescence. It doesnt get that kind of distortion but a peddle will make it happen. Overall, from what i described and ( i was hesitant at first) just get it!

this is a very good amp for starters and beginners. I really like that I can hook up standard ear buds to it and do not disturb any one else in the house when I practice. It's light weight and smaller size make its very easy to move and the foot print does not take up room.
