I like Donner products. I have two Donner ukuleles and a Kala U-Bass and initially purchased the 10watt Donner practice amp that was described as guitar/bass- but it was not for a U-bass (or any bass) and I returned it. I then purchased this item. It is larger/heavier than the 10watt practice amp (this one is 25 watts) and it not only works well for the U-bass, but also for the tenor and concert ukuleles. Both amps are very well made and I am happy I made this purchase. (I also wrote a review for the 10watt and have encouraged Donner to take the "bass" out of the main description.)

Very nice little practice amp. It has a nice thump for an 8 in speaker and is much louder than I expected. Its a great alternative to using my rumble 100 in my bedroom.

The bass amp is exactly what I needed. It's got plenty of power for me to practice with. I like that its simple and easy to set up with no problems. Receiving the guitar cord and input cord was extra nice.
All quality stuff, Just like the amp.
One of the best deals I've seen for a beginner.

I was very surprised; this little amp carries a wallop. The bass amp is more than I expected. Great product, great service and fast shipping. Oh! the price was great.

Hey this little 25 watt amp was exactly what I needed to get my new bass playing hobby started. The construction quality of the amp was way better than I expected and the deep rich bass sound that came with it was just as good if not better, and all for a great price! As you can see with the beginnings of my musical instrument collection, my new saying is "Donner Rocks"! DonnerDeals.com... check it out, you won't be disappointed!

Really great amp. Loud enough to play smaller clubs. Amazing value.

Looking for a compact bass amplifier for practice at low-medium volumes (I have a larger combo for louder gigs). For this size and price range, I wasn't looking for huge volume, which comes from high power and larger speakers, which also comes with higher price. For under $100, I don't need to rattle the windows, that's what my 500 watt Fender combo is for. What I do care about is QUALITY of tone, regardless of whether volume is at 1 or turned up to 10. So I had high hopes for this little unit, and I can honestly say I'm quite happy with my purchase! Sometimes little bass amps can sound boxy and distorted like they're struggling, because bass frequencies need more power and more "air" than guitar, keyboard, etc. This guy sounds like a real bass amp! My basses have a low B string, which can separate the real amps from the wannabes. I pluck my B string on this, and to my surprise it rings through clearly, NO mud, NO distortion! For 25 watts and a 6.5 inch speaker, that's pretty impressive. It doesn't get super-loud, unsurprisingly, but that's not the point. The volume that is there, is quality volume, from the low B to the highest fret.Well done, Donner!PROS:Quality authentic bass toneHandles low B string!!!Takes to pedal effects well - adding gain/boost gives you even more clean volumeHeadphone outComes with instrument cableCONS:Not chest-thumping loudRat fur isn't as nice as tolex

Lately, I’ve been on a Donner kick. I’ve purchased a number of their products and have been really satisfied with their quality and affordability. Quite simply, I’ve gotten a lot of bang for my buck.

We got this amp for our granddaughter when she took interest in an electric bass I made 20 years ago. We had it sent directly to her, and we've only heard it over computer audio. I just wanted an inexpensive but decent amp for her to try out the guitar, in case it didn't interest her as much as she thought it would. This fit those bills, and the sound seemed fairly good, especially considering the price point. I think this is a good choice for a tryout/intro amp.

I was pleasantly surprised with the build quality of this amp, especially for the price but was VERY surprised by how quiet it was at full volume. I have a 15 watt guitar amp that is much louder than this 25 watt bass amp even when I'm playing bass through it. So if you're looking for a practice amp that won't disturb the neighbours then this is the one for you. I would have given it 5-stars but for it being so quiet.

This small practice amp is good for learning songs from a computer or IPOD dock or knocking around while watching TV, nothing more. Good sound, but the volume is very limited. Don't buy this and expect it to compete with Drum Volume.
Adrian
This amplifier is really good for string instruments. It is a pretty good price and it has multiple ports so you can input different devices. Very good for the price.

It's just as described -- good for at home practicing. I'm happy.

Good for small room practice session, why I bought it.

Works great with my new bass guitar.

This amp was a great purchase especially for how much it costs. Not too small and not too bulky at the same time, and it can pack a punch when it comes to volume. I’m just getting into guitar into quarantine and am stoked on this. Highly recommend this product!

We play biweekly at our church and I was looking for a small amp so my husband could practice his base while I play our piano. It’s been perfect! The sound quality is great and it is small enough to store and move around the house.

Just starting to play electric bass and the amp has met and/or exceeded expectations.

I posted a picture of this Donner amp next to my Fender Rumble v3 500W, which is a gigging quality amp. As you might expect, the Donner amp is more limited. But that's not the point! At 35+ lbs the Fender amp is bulky and cumbersome to move and carry, whereas the little Donner is easy to pick up for quick practice or rehearsal. For what it's designed for, the Donner delivers in spades and the small speaker deliver a rich bass sound (the speaker is totally enclosed, not open back, which is how Donner likely managed this "magic"). The 3 band EQ is serviceable, for example my bass has single coil pickups and buzzes when I play at home next to my halogen lamp, and turning down the treble knob will cut the buzz down. Practicing bass by yourself can be lonely work, so I love that Donner added an MP3 input to an amp with such a low price point. you can play along with MP3s or drum tracks. I often practice late at night, so I also love that the speaker will shut off when you plug in headphones, but you still hear a good bass sound in the speakers (and any MP3 you're playing to of course).
For home and garage band use, coffee shop gigs and all around portability this is a great amp! Also great for beginners that don't want to break the bank or have little storage room like college student dorms.
I found another use for it: I went to an acoustic jam where everyone played acoustic guitars, mandolins, fiddles, ... usually that crowd expects you to being an upright acoustic bass, but I don't have one (yet?) While that crowd is usually "allergic" to electrically amplified instruments, the little Donner amp was less threatening and had the perfect volume to play along in the acoustic jam.
One final though: I saw some people asking if it can be used with a guitar. It can, you won;t damage the guitar or the amp, but the speaker is really tuned for a bass, so your guitar will not sound as bright. It looks like Donner has a guitar amp (I might get one) and I suspect it would be better for a guitar.

Just received and out of the box I am happy with it...bigger and heavier than I expected, which is good to me. Sound is good and can be loud enough to be uncomfortable in a room.

Just what hubby needed. Nice sound & size

Received the 25W last week and it's working well so far and sounds alright. However there seems to be a design flaw in that the amplifier circuitboard is mounted via the quarter inch input jack and the knobs screwed in to the faceplate- except the Aux and Headphone port on the right side. Since it's at the far right side of the board, without any extra method of securing it to the faceplate, the board flexes whenever you plug into either of the 3.5mm jacks, and accidentally yanking on something in those jacks could cause damage to the board.

We bought two. One was great, the other DOA. We returned it easily and replaced it with a third. The third made some weird noise at first, but I just kept playing a few minutes (hard and loud) and it went away. Seems like it needed a break-in (?). Pretty loud for its size and not bad sound either. AUX jack is nice too. Get for a beginner. Just make sure its not DOA.
